Agnigarh

Agnigarh is a small hill facing the river Brahmaputra in the city of Tezpur. From the hilltop, the entire view of the river as well as the city can be viewed. Currently, the place has been developed as a beautiful park by the district administration, thereby preserving the sweet memory of the young lovers. It also has a series of sculptures depicting the mythology, apart from an open air stage, giant mushrooms, and a huge waterfall.

Cole Park

Located in one of the most beautiful and legendary places of Assam, Cole Park attracts a host of travellers and nature lovers every year. Cole Park is definitely one of the most picturesque spots in Assam. Cole Park has a small water body as well, where rowing, paddle boats, and such other water sports are allowed. Besides this, there is also a restaurant and an open air stage within its premises.

Mahabhairab

Majuli Mahabhairab Temple, located atop a small hill in the northern part of Tezpur, is considered as a major landmark of this ancient city and contributes a lot to the magnetic charm and beauty of the place. It is believed that the original temple was made of stone, constructed by Banasura, the demon king who had his capital at Tezpur. The most important festival observed at Mahabhairab temple is Shivratri, which is celebrated amidst great pomp and glory. Devotees and tourists come here from not only different parts of India but the whole world to take part in the celebrations and ask blessings from the lord.

Bhomoraguri

Ahom King Pratap Singha with the view of consolidating power over the Brahmaputra Valley on the right bank, not only gave Koch King Parikshit Narayan a cordial reception but also appointed him as his representative in Darrang as Raja Dharma Narayan and assured all possible help to fight the moghuls. After two back to back losses, the Ahoms tasted victory and also destroyed the Mughals both physically and psychologically. The Ahom king strengthened his position and added to his resources by capturing the Mughal stockades elephants, horses, war-boats, guns, swords and munitions. To mark such a grand victory, Ahom King Pratap Singha had his exploits inscribed on a rock. These rocks inscriptions can be found on a near the Koliabhomora Bridge on top of a hillock.
